📋 About This Event

This is a loosely organized, come-as-you-are hanami, open to alumni clubs and their membership of international and Japanese universities. The Georgetown University Alumni Club of Japan and the Yale Club of Japan are co-hosting this event, with each club coming ready to host their own members — staking out a spot on the lawn, managing setup, and tidying up at the end of the day.

There is no formal program. The spirit of the day is casual connection across schools over cherry blossoms, food, and good company.

👤 For Club Leaders — What We Need From You

Club leaders play an important role in making this event run smoothly. Here's what we ask:

Before the Event

• Communicate event details to your club membership using this page as a reference. Please feel free to use the graphics for the event that we shared with you via email or contact us directly and we would be happy to send to you.
• Encourage members to wear their school colors or gear — the more spirit, the better!
• If your club has a flag or banner, please plan to bring it so your members can find you on the lawn.
• Encourage members to prepare food and drinks in advance rather than relying on nearby convenience stores, which can sell out quickly on popular hanami days.
• Share the What to Bring checklist below with your members ahead of time, and draw their attention in particular to the notes on tarps and trash disposal.

Day Of

• Plan to arrive at or before 9:00 AM to help secure space on the lawn for your group. The park opens at 9:00 AM; the event is publicized to members as starting at 10:00 AM.
